PRESS RELEASE: AntiBeauty: From Adversity to Innovation in Beauty
PERTH, AUSTRALIA – AntiBeauty, a trailblazing Australian skincare brand, has recently been honoured with the prestigious Amazon Launchpad Innovation Grant for 2023. This mark of distinction comes on the heels of a triumphant journey from homelessness to a booming business, challenging societal norms and setting new standards in the beauty industry.
Six years ago, founder Benjamyn Gardner found himself homeless, battling mental health issues, and grappling with feelings of marginalisation. It was this adversity that fuelled the creation of AntiBeauty – a brand committed to promoting authenticity, self-worth, self-love, and acceptance.
“We’ve built AntiBeauty around the ethos of inclusivity and individualism,” says Gardner. “Our brand focuses on real people, and enhancing the beauty they already possess. We’re committed to dismantling notions of ‘perfect beauty’ – it’s an outdated, destructive idea. Instead, we encourage self-worth, self-love, and acceptance.”
Proudly Australian and handcrafting all products in Perth, AntiBeauty offers a comprehensive range of ethical, carbon-neutral, and recyclable skincare solutions. Each product can be mixed and matched to cater to all skin types, ages, genders and concerns. The brand is also set to expand their innovative line with the launch of a cosmeceutical range in just a month.
“We believe skincare is an investment in self-care,” states Gardner. “After all, our skin is the largest organ and our first line of defence. It deserves love and attention.”
Notably, AntiBeauty is the first skincare brand in the world to cater specifically for those undergoing Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), underlining its commitment to inclusivity and its strong ties to the queer community.
Beyond its impressive product range, AntiBeauty’s business journey is also noteworthy. Gardner, having completed the Woolworths Seedlab Bootcamp, is currently participating in the Seedlab Cultivate programme. This recognition is testament to the brand’s resilience, creativity, and disruptive potential.
“The Amazon Launchpad Innovation Grant is an amazing validation of our unique approach,” Gardner concludes. “We’re excited to continue on this journey, fostering a more inclusive and sustainable beauty industry, and empowering every individual to embrace their unique beauty.”
