PRESS RELEASE: Aussies named booziest Country in the World

Australia has the dubious honour of being named the top drinking country in the world in a recent report. But with more health warnings linking alcohol to cancer and mental health concerns than ever before, Grey Area Drinking Coach, Sarah Rusbatch, asks if it’s time we looked at WHY we drink the way we do, and what needs to change in our society to reduce this alarming statistic? “It’s confronting to read this report, yet perhaps this is the information we need in order to start addressing our binge-drinking culture,” Sarah says. “Offering more alcohol-free drinks, normalising sobriety, and sharing more on the impact of alcohol on our mental wellbeing, sleep, hormones, and cancer risks, will all help change the drinking culture in Australia. I now have a community of over 20,000 Sober and Sober Curious Women looking to change their drinking habits but so often it’s peer pressure to drink that derails them – this has to change.”
