PRESS RELEASE: Australia’s Chief Scientist and Saul Griffith to Speak at Largest Climate Technology Event On Dec 7

On December 7th, 2022, Sydney, will host the largest climate technology event in the southern hemisphere. The 2022 Climate Technology Festival, produced by Climate Salad, brings together more than 50 companies, 50 investors and over 300 supporters at the Maritime Museum in Sydney.
The climate change discussion has moved past the causes, importance, and sense of urgency. The focus is now on solutions and this event shows Australia’s credentials to be a climate technology superpower. Companies will be showcasing technology from energy, agriculture, circular economy, data, finance, carbon accounting, nature based solutions and more.
The event aims to bring this strong and growing industry together with the corporate customers, government partners and investors to accelerate the global adoption of world leading products.
Speakers at the event include Chief Scientist of Australia, Dr Cathy Foley, industry expert and author of ‘The Big Switch’, Saul Griffith, and psychologist and author of ‘How to talk about climate change in a way that makes a difference’, Dr Rebecca Huntley.
By combining subject matter experts, with product demonstrations, and industry connections, this event will see this relatively new industry take its place as an important piece in Australia’s future.
“Climate tech is a triple win. Thousands of jobs of all kinds, development of the research and innovation sectors, and a cleaner environment for the world. We’re excited to show these amazing companies to people who haven’t yet witnessed Australia’s incredible capabilities and seen the role they can play in our sustainable future,” Mick Liubinskas, CEO of Climate Salad.
Along with a number of industry experts, the event includes investors from Main Sequence, (CSIRO’s Innovation Fund), SKIP Capital (the family office of Atlassian’s Scott Farquhar), Giant Leap Impact Fund and many more.
Companies at the festival will include:
Goterra – uses maggots to turn food waste into usable proteins
