PRESS RELEASE: Brisbane Woman Wins Gold at Global Women Changing the World Awards 2025

Jess Taylor, CEO of QENDO, has been named the Emerging Leader of the Year at the prestigious 2025 Women Changing the World Awards.
The Women Changing the World Awards, presented by Oprah Winfrey’s all-time favourite guest Dr. Tererai Trent, honour women making extraordinary contributions across sustainability, humanitarian work, leadership, advocacy, technology, education, health, innovation and beyond. These awards shine a light on the growing global movement of women leading with purpose and creating real-world impact — while inspiring others to do the same.
Dr. Trent says, “These exceptional women are here to awaken hearts, give permission to recapture dreams, and inspire the women of the world to come together to forge a brighter path for all. The rising of women is the awakening of everybody.”
Jess Taylor said she was humbled and honoured to win gold in the Emerging Leader of the Year category, surrounded by a global group of women making meaningful change.
“To be recognised on a global stage like this is incredibly emotional. Advocacy in women’s health — particularly in the areas of endometriosis, pelvic pain, and chronic illness — is not easy work. It’s often slow, underfunded, and deeply personal. This award is a reminder that the relentless fight to be heard, to be seen, and to create a better future for our community is worth it.”
“I was blown away by the strength, drive and brilliance of the women I met at these awards. To be in the company of such fierce change-makers was a gift in itself.”
When asked what advice she’d offer others hoping to make a difference, Jess said:
“You don’t need permission to lead — you just need persistence. Change is hard, but your voice matters more than you know.”
In the past 12 months, Jess and her team at QENDO have achieved several major milestones, including:
• Growing the free QENDO app which also took out silver at the awards, now with over 24,000 users, helping people track symptoms, get diagnosed earlier, and communicate better with healthcare providers and loved ones
• Hosting Australia’s first World Endometriosis Congress – Community Day, bringing together hundreds of people with lived experience to elevate their voices
• Launching a new nurse navigation program providing personalised support for people living with endometriosis and pelvic pain
Jess credits her success to “the power of lived experience, an unstoppable team, and a community that refuses to stay silent.”
Looking ahead, Jess is focused on continuing to scale QENDO’s national support services and leading systemic reform in how we diagnose, treat, and talk about pelvic pain in Australia and beyond.
