PRESS RELEASE: CUB’s best-selling caravan gets huge upgrades for 2026 spec model

Cub Campers’ best-selling caravan, the H16 is getting a new design with a series of upgrades for the 2026 spec model including a new extended 7-year structural warranty.

Launched in 2022, the Cub H16 quickly became CUB’s best-selling model and today has eclipsed the legendary 1975 launched Cub Drifter in sales. The H16 was launched by third generation CUB owner Shane Fagan who saw a gap in the fast-growing caravan market.

“Covid encouraged Australians to look inwards for travel, and the camper and caravan industry began to really boom,” said Shane.

“We had been finalising plans to launch our Australian built off-road, hybrid caravan for some time, with demand due to Covid pushing our launch forward. Our customers wanted something more luxurious that kept true to the CUB core values of Australian made, lightweight and able to tackle the harshest off-road tracks.”

The 2026 spec H16 is a complete redesign with significant improvements in strength and weight saving. Externally, the H16 features an all-new moulded resin core infused roof, a redesigned aerodynamic front profile with new stronger stone-guard and stronger folded steel and powder coated wheel arches with larger wheels and tyres. The outdoor shower has been relocated to the door side to allow sandy feet to be washed whilst sitting on the entry step, avoiding sand to the interior.

“Some of our changes seem small but make a huge difference when living with the H16,” believes Shane.

“Our customers are very loyal, most onto their second, third or fourth CUB purchase, so we listen to their ideas carefully and take onboard what will improve their CUB experience.”

This includes the new H16 servery window from the internal kitchen to outdoor kitchen, that includes fold-down doors (instead of up) to ensure your interior view is never impeded. An external pantry and a locker for storage or optional BBQ slide-out, similar to the CUB C18 has been added, again after customer feedback.

Step inside the 2026 spec H16 and there’s some huge improvements. The ensuite is now located across the rear, allowing for a separate shower and toilet area, an oversized counter with make-up station and room for the optional wall mounted washing machine.

CUB Product Designer Aaron Sheen, who designed the original H16, wanted to give the new H16 the feel of a bigger van after working on the CUB C18, “I wanted customers to have to check if they were really in a 16-foot van,” said Aaron.

“The H16 ensuite is huge and so is the new flexible internal layout we have created.”

The CUB King bed remains in the north-south orientation, adjacent the new bench seat dinette opposite the internal kitchen. A completely new modular unit follows on from the dinette and allows customers to customise according to their needs. “The modular unit can fit a 175L internal fridge, a significant upgrade from the previous 110L fridge. Being a modular unit, a customer may elect to fit a 110L fridge and allow for another huge pantry above, of even dedicate the whole unit to hanging clothes and drawers,” said Aaron.

Other H16 innovations include more underbed storage, wireless charging stations, Starlink access port and new soft-furnishing materials and colours.

For the 2026 H16 Spec model an optional Raptor Pack is available that includes a galvanised hot-dipped chassis, external lower Raptor coated panels, Raptor coated draw bar, Method alloy wheels, black internal hardware and herringbone pattern flooring.

The 2026 spec H16 is covered by CUB’s new 7-year structural warranty that is transferable for the first three years if you follow the service requirements and sell through an authorised CUB dealer (on consignment).

Orders for the 2026 spec H16 are now open. The CUB H16 is priced from $99,990 plus dealer and delivery costs.
