DJ Lisa D Celebrates 25 Years Behind the Decks

A Quarter Century of Old Skool R&B, Hip Hop & Good Times
Adelaide’s own DJ Lisa D is celebrating a huge milestone in 2025, 25 years in the music industry. From her first sets in the early 2000s to performing on arena stages and becoming one of the most recognisable voices on Adelaide radio, Lisa has built a career around passion, persistence and pure love for music.

For more than two decades, Lisa has been part of Fresh 92.7. She’s the voice behind flagship shows like Freakin’ It with Lisa D and It’s Freakin’ Windback Wednesday, programs that not only celebrate the music but also the culture and community that surround it.

Lisa’s DJ career has taken her from Adelaide’s club circuit to some of the country’s biggest stages. One of her proudest moments was stepping onto the stage at Fridayz Live at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, warming up the crowd for a line up of international R&B heavyweights. She also knows how to bring the energy to sports fans, holding down the decks as a regular DJ for the Adelaide 36ers, keeping the vibe strong inside The Orb.

Over the years, Lisa has crossed paths with some of the biggest names in the game. She’s interviewed legends like Public Enemy, Fatman Scoop, DMX, Ice Cube, John Legend, Mýa, Naughty by Nature, Chris Brown, Grandmaster Flash, Montell Jordan, Marcia Hines, Guy Sebastian, The Black Eyed Peas and many more. In addition, she’s also shared stages with Montell Jordan, Mýa, Boyz II Men, Fatman Scoop and others.

Lisa’s connection to the culture has extended offstage too. Having written for national magazines including Ministry of Sound, Urban Hitz and Rhyme & Reason, as well as Adelaide’s own dB Magazine, documenting the music she’s always championed.

Lisa’s impact goes beyond DJing and radio. Through her creative company Vybin’ Media, she has worked with theatres, festivals and hospitality groups on everything from marketing to event management. Right now, she’s also working on the marketing for an iconic Adelaide venue as it prepares for its 2025 relaunch.

25 Years Deep – The Celebration
