In a latest development, Rev. Dr. Bernard Malik was honoured with the prestigious and most coveted knighthood as per the Order of the Knights of Rizal in a glorious event in Sydney, Australia on June 25.
As a part of the ritual, the prefix “Sir” is attached to the forenames of a few distinguished members of the society, holding them a cut above the rest.
Dr. Bernard Malik is a renowned global academician, diplomat and philanthropist, having done path-breaking achievements in the field of education. Dr. Malik is associated with number of charities and also heads a Think Tank ” Research And Policy House” in Brisbane Australia. A champion for the cause of the downtrodden, he continues to serve the society in a vast number of arenas.
The Knights of Rizal, which is the honour to be bestowed is the sole order of knighthood in the Philippines and a constituted Order of Merit recognized by the Orders, decorations, and medals of the Philippines, established by the Act of Philippines Parliament in 1951.
With this accomplishment, Dr Bernard Malik joins the ranks of notable members of the knights of Rizal including King Juan Carlos I of Spain and long line of illustrious Presidents of Philippines.
The conferring of the coveted title is also being viewed as a great mark of respect and recognition for the relentless and selfless work of Dr. Malik to the society on a whole.
