Evergreen Doctors is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Jerome Sarris, one of Australia’s most respected leaders in integrative mental health, as our new Integrative Mental Health Consultant.
With more than 35 years of clinical and research experience, Professor Sarris brings world-class expertise in nutritional psychiatry, lifestyle medicine, and evidence-based integrative approaches to mood, anxiety, stress, sleep, burnout, cognitive health, and brain optimisation. He is a Professor at Swinburne University’s Centre for Mental Health (where he holds the position of Professor of Psychedelic Medicine), holds appointments at NICM Health Research Institute (Western Sydney University) and The Florey Institute (University of Melbourne), and serves as Chief Scientific Officer of Neurala Biosciences, a clinical-stage biotech developing next-generation neuromedicines.
A prolific researcher with over 260 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals (including The Lancet Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry, and JAMA), Professor Sarris has co-edited the seminal textbook Clinical Naturopathy: An Evidence-Based Guide to Practice and led international clinical guidelines on nutraceuticals and plant-based medicines for psychiatric disorders (WFSBP/CANMAT). He has also contributed to the European Commission’s Depression Treatment Taskforce.His addition significantly strengthens Evergreen Doctors’ multidisciplinary model, bridging conventional care with advanced functional, lifestyle, and nutritional psychiatry — exactly the integrative, root-cause approach our patients expect.
