PRESS RELEASE: Factor Constructions Prevails in Adjudication Over Disputed Subcontractor Claim
Southport, QLD – 04 Sept 2025
Factor Constructions has emerged decisively from a recent adjudication brought by subcontractor M8Con Trading Pty Ltd, which sought $218,149.25 in relation to early works at the Neos Corner project in Annerley.
Although the adjudicator technically found in favour of M8Con, the claimant was awarded just $2,532.86 — less than 1.1% of the amount claimed. The outcome clearly supports Factor’s position that the claim was largely unsubstantiated based on the adjudicator’s assessment.
“In our view, this decision highlights that the claim largely lacked merit and credibility,” said a spokesperson for Factor Constructions. “We’re pleased with the result, which reinforces the importance of transparency and accountability in subcontractor engagements.”
Factor Constructions always seeks to resolve issues amicably and in good faith, and that approach was maintained throughout this matter. While the adjudicator found that a limited arrangement had arisen, Factor was not found liable for the bulk of the claimed amount — a reflection of the company’s commercial discipline and commitment to proper process.
Factor Constructions values its relationships with subcontractors and expects — and upholds — integrity and professionalism on all sides.
Factor Constructions remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of commercial conduct and continues to deliver strong outcomes on the Neos Corner project and its wider portfolio. The company thanks its project stakeholders for their continued support and looks forward to progressing the development with integrity and focus.
