PRESS RELEASE: Final Release – Australia’s biggest skateboarding event set to Rumble
We’re pleased to do the final release in what’s coming along as a record breaking event in the Mackay Region for the 7th Annual Rumble on the Reef event.
Schedule / What’s on during Championship week
Lead in Tour dates are confirmed for Community Roadshows, with 3 lead in community fan days on the road up to the championship event.
Sunday 15th September – 2pm Logan Village Skatepark
Wednesday 18th September – 2pm Yeppoon Skatepark
Thursday 19th September – 2pm Blacks Beach Skatepark
The Official Launch party will take place on Thursday September 19 at Grind Shrine Skate shop in Mackay from 6pm with a halfpipe, live music & more.
Friday the 20th September, the Sugarbowl Arena will be closed for public use at the 9 & Under, 12 & Under, 16 & Under and Mens and Womens Pro undertake their qualifying for finals day. The top Skaters from day one will head through to the championship final on Saturday.
Saturday the 21s September, is the biggest day of skateboarding in Australia of the year, with campaigning focused on breaking national attendance records for Domestic Competition.
The day includes The Pasifika Cup, Social Division, Junior Championships, Mens and Womens Pro National Championships as part of the competition.
The Arena will be brought to life with food trucks, 4 x live bands, fully licensed area and activations.

Olympian Haylie Powell will be present for the week, being involved in the community, with coaching and demonstration appearances. She is available for Radio, TV and Print Media so please enquire if you would like to connect with our newest Olympian.
The Pasifika Cup is a world first competition between the Pacific Islands, with the winning nation receiving equipment to be sent home to help develop skateboarding in their home country.
A wake up call on Australian Representation. We could see podiums in all divisions taken by skateboarders who aren’t part of the Olympic Program at all. Australia’s talent depth is so huge, we often don’t see some of the best on the global stage, but prepare for an ambush.
