PRESS RELEASE: Five Tips to Drink Less this Festive Season

5 Tips To Drink Less this Festive Season

Christmas is just around the corner and our diaries are quickly filling up with social events. It’s easy to let our alcohol consumption increase by up to double at this time of year, which impacts our energy, liver, mood and anxiety. Grey Area Drinking Coach Sarah Rusbatch says we can still enjoy the fun but without all the side effects. Here’s how… 1) Don’t plan every Xmas catch up around alcohol – include walks, breakfasts, picnics and outdoor activities that create connection but without the pressure to drink. 2) Get familiar with alcohol-free drinks and take them along to social events. It stops people questioning what you’re drinking and most people don’t even notice it’s alcohol-free. 3) Make sure you have a few alcohol-free days each week. 4) Say No! Get comfortable with saying No to invites that don’t excite you – that means you will enjoy the ones you do attend even more. 5) Focus on the positives of not feeling hungover every day – a morning run, being patient and present with your children and enjoying all the other positives this festive season – time with loved ones, time off work and a real opportunity to rest and recharge.
