PRESS RELEASE: GMP Law announces equity partnership as firm enters next phase of growth

Sydney, Australia – 19th December
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Gerard Malouf & Partners (GMP Law), one of Australia’s leading specialist personal injury and class action law firms, today announced a new equity partnership and senior leadership appointment that strengthens the firm’s partnership structure and supports its long-term growth strategy.

Founder and Chairman Gerard Malouf confirmed the appointment of Managing Partner David Cossalter as an equity partner of the firm. In addition, Partner Garbis Kolokossian has been promoted to Deputy Managing Partner and appointed as an equity partner.

“These appointments recognise the important contributions David and Garbis have made to the continued success of the firm,” Mr Malouf said. “Their efforts have been central to our growth and to strengthening the practice we continue to build together.”

The strengthened partnership structure comes at a pivotal time for the firm, as it continues to expand its capacity, invest in new technology, and enhance client service.

“These leadership appointments enhance our ability to scale effectively while continuing to provide the exceptional support our clients rely on,” Mr Malouf said. “As we continue to grow, having strong leaders in place ensures we can manage greater capacity and introduce new innovations that drive legal excellence. David and Garbis both play an important role in helping us build a more modern, efficient, and client focused practice.”

Mr Malouf emphasised that the firm’s broader structure remains unchanged, and that the appointments acknowledge the leadership already demonstrated by both individuals.

“As the founder of this firm, it has always been important to me that our leadership reflects the values GMP Law was built on: hard work, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to our clients,” he said. “Strengthening our partnership at this level ensures continuity and positions us strongly for the next chapter of growth. A chapter in which I remain fully and actively involved.”

Reflecting on the firm’s legacy, Mr Malouf added, “GMP Law has never been just a business to me. It represents a lifetime of hard work and a deeply personal commitment to justice. Our success has always come from our people; talented, dedicated professionals who share the same passion for excellence that has guided me for more than 35 years.”

GMP Law congratulates David Cossalter and Garbis Kolokossian on their well deserved appointments and looks forward to their ongoing contribution to the firm’s future.
