PRESS RELEASE: Hobart Whisky takes out World’s Best Honey Liqueur on the global stage

Hobart, Tasmania (28 April, 2022) – Hobart Whisky, the makers of Tasmanian Whisky Liqueur, today announced that they have received the World’s Best Honey Liqueur award in the World’s Liqueur Awards.

Hobart Whisky takes pride in the quality of its whisky and liqueurs. Hobart Whisky established in 2014, first launched their Tasmanian Whisky Liqueur in 2020, the result of direction set by owner Rocky Caccavo to, “take the time, do it properly, patience and persistence pays off”. “We are very pleased that Hobart Whisky, Tasmanian Whisky Liqueur has been recognised on the global stage in a category made up of products of such a high calibre,” said John Jarvis, distillery manager.

Hobart Whisky Single Malt married with Tasmanian Manuka and Wildflower honey, orange zest, and spice.

Sweetness is driven by the honey which is balanced by plenty of zesty orange peel notes. The variety of spice drives depth and complexity without overbearing. A long finish, with the spices and orange zest pleasantly lingering.

The 35% abv allows for the single malt to come through, best served with ice to chill, perfect in a cocktail with tonic, or the base of a hot toddy with warm water, honey and lemon.

We are a family-owned distillery based in Hobart, Tasmania, and our philosophy is entirely based around making whisky for us, that we love, and want to share. We started developing our distillery in 2014 and started producing in 2015. Despite being one of the first dozen Tasmanian distilleries, we flew under the radar for quite a while, and in this time concentrated on making whisky.
