PRESS RELEASE: Introducing Escargot Bakery: Where French Tradition Meets Australian Delight

Step into a world of delightful flavours where French tradition meets the vibrant essence of Melbourne’s food scene at Escargot Bakery. Nestled in the heart of Brighton, this bright orange artisanal bakery is the vision of master bakers Etienne and Leonard, who have crafted a haven for the finest French pastries with an innovative Australian twist.

Their signature pastry “escargot,” is a scrumptious and classic snail-shaped pastry (as popular as croissants in France) available in a variety of mouthwatering flavours including chocolate, cinnamon, and savoury options topped with parmesan, chives, jalapenos, and black garlic. The Escargot team is forever evolving to keep their Bayside customers excited.

“We are very proud of what we have created with Escargot Bakery and putting a smile on people’s faces when they bite into one of our freshly baked escargot.” shares Etienne, an experienced baker from the National Institute of Baking and Pastries in France.

Amongst the other must-try masterpieces of Escargot, is the bakery’s “Epi,” a charmingly shaped sourdough baguette inspired by a wheat stalk. Perfect for sharing, it comes filled with bacon and cheese, Vegemite, or caramelised onions and jalapenos making it a local favourite. “It’s easy to pull apart and share…locals are getting addicted to it!” adds Leonard, whose expertise hails from France and his renowned experience at Woodfrog Bakery and Bread Club.

The bakery boasts an array of sourdough bread selections, featuring mouthwatering baguettes, olive baguettes, country sourdough, and super-seeded loaves – a perfect fusion of French tradition and Australian quality.

They take pride in working with only the finest local ingredients, such as MountZero olives and the creamiest cultured butter from Ocean Grove’s Lardass. It is quality butter, in fact, that Escargot credits as the luxurious foundation for all their recipes. “It is our aim to make the best bread and baked products respecting the traditional way and not taking any shortcuts.” shares Etienne, reflecting the bakery’s commitment to excellence.

Embodying authenticity and exceptional flavours, Escargot Bakery stands out as the ultimate destination for those seeking delicious French pastries with an Australian touch. With steadfast dedication to their roots, every product is made with love and care, just 10 metres away from where customers purchase them.

Customers old and new need only stay connected on social media for the latest news and updates. As the Escargot community continues to grow, Etienne and Leonard are also excited to celebrate this year’s Bastille Day (Monday, July 14) with plenty of fun a la française!
