GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA – 7 FEBRUARY 2022 – RDM Group Australia, a leading manufacturer providing products and services to key industries will soon be homeless, to shine the spotlight on one of the greatest and damaging impacts that COVID has had on everyday Aussies.
RDM Group Australia who specializes in the design and manufacture of engine cooling components has been relied upon for over a decade to support the Mining, Marine, Transport, Rail, Agriculture and Automotive sectors to keep Australia moving.
“The past two years have presented extraordinary challenges including extensive delays in shipping and freight, constant rising costs, and staff absenteeism due to COVID regulations and policy imposed by government, all of which have impacted not only us but our clients,” RDM Group Sales & Marketing Manager Josh Zampech said.
One of the greatest impacts though which government isn’t talking about and will be felt for years to come is the decline in mental health and wellbeing of everyday Australians.
Josh says, “We have seen the impact first-hand in our own business and that of our clients, we’ve seen and heard the stats regarding business closures and the increasing number of calls to helplines and charities and it’s something that can’t be ignored.”
RDM Group Australia will be holding a ‘Carpark Campout’ on Friday 25th February to shine the spotlight on mental health. Josh Zampech says “We are going it rough for the night and camping out in the carpark. Many Aussies are homeless and struggling and have been more so throughout the past two years. We’ll be raising funds for Lifeline and our team will donate whatever goods they can to support those less fortunate.”
The nationwide crisis of suicide, homelessness, and the increase in cases of mental illness has taken a backseat to and has been further exacerbated by COVID. Josh says, “It seems the only information the government reports or cares about is case and vaccination numbers and changes to regulations, which are so confusing at times it’s no wonder people have lost hope, their businesses and their livelihoods.”
It makes us wonder what the real impact of COVID will be and how long it will be felt for.
