PRESS RELEASE: Multiple Grammy Award winner Narada Michael Walden completes first single for Australian Charlie Mitchell

Narada Michael Walden, the multiple Grammy Award winning producer known for his legendary work with Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, George Michael, Elton John, Barbra Streisand and the list goes on, has completed the first single for Gold Coast singer Charlie Mitchell entitled, “Even After.”

Mitchell, who just turned 16, was discovered by singer Brian Evans on Instagram while browsing his phone on his patio at his home on Maui, Hawaii, and immediately brought the young Australian to the attention of Walden.

The first single is a song about hope after the loss of a loved one, with lyrics that speak to and from that loved one.

“It’s a beautiful song that gives hope and love to the world. Charlie Mitchell is a superstar in the making,” says Walden.

Evans will fly to the Gold Coast in late April to begin working on the next song that Mitchell will record entitled, “Sunshiny Man.” The crooner styled song has been a song Evans wrote for himself about twenty years ago.

“I never recorded it, but when I saw Charlie’s style and presence, I knew it belonged to him,” says Evans, who also is Executive Producer of the music being recorded by Walden along with co-executive producer Jesse Stenger.

“Even After” was written by Evans following the loss of his mother, Helen Bousquet. Evans, however, could not bring himself to sing it.

“The song needed to be recorded by someone detached. I was too close to it to be able to make sure it connected with everybody. That’s the thing about music. People can feel a song and it’s authenticity and Charlie brought the youth and vulnerability to really make the song come through in a way that was free from the actual experience I had to endure.”

Evans is currently in discussions with several nationally televised morning shows in Australia where he seeks to have Charlie Mitchell debut the song.

“He should debut this song in the country he is from, despite the release heading for worldwide release sometime in May.”

In the over twenty years Evans has known and worked with Narada Michael Walden, Charlie Mitchell is the only artist he has ever brought to the attention of the legendary producer, whose production of Whitney Houston’s “The Bodyguard” soundtrack, remains the best selling film soundtrack of all time.

“Charlie is just beginning,” says Walden. “I look forward to collaborating on some of the original material as well. His voice is incredible and we are all very impressed with him. It takes a lot to impress me.”
