PRESS RELEASE: NDIS Provider Hope and Care Joins as New Corporate Partner of the Canterbury-Bankstown Chamber of Commerce

For Immediate Release

Sydney, NSW – 1 February 2021 – Hope and Care, Bankstown-based National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) service provider, is proud to announce their corporate membership into the Canterbury-Bankstown Chamber of Commerce (CBCC).

Hope and Care is an NDIS provider whose mission is to provide the best possible health, lifestyle and other supports to our NDIS participants to bring them the highest level of independence possible. The CBCC is the fastest-growing Chamber of Commerce in NSW, committed to advocacy and representing the collective voice of local SMEs in the Canterbury-Bankstown LGA, and be the premier place for business support, education, and networking.

‘It is truly an honour to have this membership as I love serving my local community, and the CBCC is supportive of local businesses in so many different ways. Many businesses have been forced to close their doors owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and I am sure that many business owners have felt alone, if not abandoned, over the past 12 months or so. But the Canterbury Bankstown Chamber of Commerce has been unwavering in its support of local businesses and I commend them highly for this,’ said Mona Salem, co-founder and director of Hope and Care.

Located in Restwell St, Bankstown, Hope and Care welcome every family member or friend who requires the assistance of a quality NDIS service provider to walk in and access the quality care of their experienced care providers. Services that Hope and Care provide to participants and the local community include:

• Occupational Therapy;
• Speech Therapy;
• Physiotherapy;
• Assistance with household tasks such a cleaning, cooking and personal care (showering, dressing etc);
• Community participation such as movies, fishing, bowling, visits to places like the Blue Mountains, Luna Park and occasional cruises on Sydney Harbour;
• Community nursing care; and
• Assisting with travel and transport such as driving participants to medical appointments and shopping – as well as accustoming them to public transport.

In late November 2020 with the attendance of special guests, Federal Member for Werriwa Anne Stanley; Liverpool City Councillor Nathan Hagarty; and two times world boxing champion Billy Dib hosting as Master of Ceremonies, Hope and Care’s initiative, the ‘Jewel In The Hope and Care Crown’ Life Skills Centre officially opened at Austral.

The Life Skills Centre provides participants with a full journey through life experiences in a warm and supportive atmosphere to assist therapeutic and skills outcomes. The facilities at the Life Skills Centre are varied, including facilities such as a lifestyle room, comprehensive cooking tour, music room, tech lab, sensory room, farm to provide animal therapy, games arcade and more. The ultimate aim of this centre is to
have tried to come up with every scenario to help our participants gain the skill set required to live as independent and normal a life as possible.

While the Life Skills Centre is a Hope and Care initiative, the facilities are there for all NDIS companies to use. Hope and Care hope providers will also embrace the concept for the benefit utilising the Skills Centre to aid the improvement of their participants.
