PRESS RELEASE: New Car Delays May Finally Have Peaked 📈

The supply chain issues affecting new car deliveries globally and in Australia are well known. But for the first time, Australian new car marketplace PriceMyCar has broken it down by make, model and even by location.
Their database of 32,883 data-points is updated monthly and includes historic figures so Australians can see how the pandemic has impacted availability and, crucially, which models are improving and which are seeing their delivery dates blow out even further.
David Lye, founder and CEO of PriceMyCar explains:
‘Australian new car delays hit an all-time high in December with the average wait time across all makes and models nationally standing at 128 days. However, there are suggestions this may have peaked with a slight improvement in January partly driven by better availability in big volume brands including Toyota and Mazda’

And overall, the longest wait for a (mainstream) car in Australia falls to the Kia Sorento where Australians placing orders today can expect to wait until November 2022 – a whopping 274 days until delivery.
