Australia’s premier skateboarding leagues which includes the:
BMD Rumble Pro tour & the
Apex National Am Series Junior competition circuit

Has exceeded expectations yet again, with 7 competitors who have come through its programs over the last decade Qualifying for Paris Olympics.

This is 8% of the total spots, a tremendous feat, with 206 countries competing for spots, and the population of Australia being smaller than most.

With analytics of population & funding, Australia & the Rumble leagues may well be the #1 development program on the planet.

This is no easy feat, with Competitions in Australia receiving no funding from a federal or state level for participation. Competitions have been scrapped together with support of local councils and goodwilling sponsors, but the sport, despite its popularity, has battled to get the same recognition and support of other sports, some of which are on the decline.

In Budapest on the weekend at the last Olympic Qualifying event, Australians took out 3 of the 4 Gold medals up for grabs.

With the huge volume of skateboarders now outdoing Rugby league Participation, we wonder if we will see Governments taking notice, as its a vital volume of people onside who have traditionally been undersupported.
