NSW Air-conditioning Rebate Encourages Energy Efficiency
The NSW State Government, as part of its commitment to long-term sustainable energy solutions, offers a series of rebates to eligible households and businesses through its Energy Saving Scheme (ESS). The NSW Air-conditioning Rebate is one of these and is designed to encourage energy consumers to switch to more effective and energy-efficient air-conditioning systems. The government hopes that by creating initiatives like this, and its other ESS rebates, consumers will not only enjoy more efficient appliances but will also experience considerable cost benefits whilst benefiting the environment at the same time.
About The NSW Air-conditioning Rebate Programme
Like its other ESS rebates, the NSW air-conditioning rebate targets old and energy-wasteful air-conditioning systems. Eligible households and businesses throughout NSW have the opportunity to replace their old unit with a new, far more efficient system that uses less energy to run, for a fraction of the cost of what you’d otherwise pay.
The government supplies these rebates through its partnerships with utility companies, equipment manufacturers, and installation contractors. This not only ensures consumers receive quality, certified equipment but also quality installation work done by licensed contractors.
Efficient Energy Group – A Trusted NSW Government Rebate Partner
Efficient Energy Group is a trusted partner in the NSW Energy Saving Scheme, and supplies accredited, energy appliances and installation services along with advice and assistance in navigating the various rebate application schemes. Company CEO Joshua Liptak today announced that, starting in September 2023, EEG will be offering eligible households and businesses the opportunity to upgrade their old, inefficient air conditioning systems to a new 7kWh split system for just $500 + GST after rebates.
Liptak told us “these new systems we’ll be installing have the potential to be up to 60% more efficient than older split system air-conditioning systems.” He added, “For a very affordable $500 (+ GST) after rebates, households and businesses in NSW can not only cut their energy bills but also help reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Further, these units incorporate Smart DC Inverter technology for faster more efficient cooling and heating.”
How To Apply For The NSW Air-Conditioning Rebate Programme
The NSW Air-Conditioning Rebate is available to all residential and commercial property owners across NSW that meet the eligibility criteria. Homeowners and businesses interested in participating have several ways they can apply. One is through the NSW Government’s Climate And Energy Action Website. Alternatively, they can apply directly with their local utility provider, or via an approved contractor like Efficient Energy Group. If successful, Liptak advises that the applicants will receive a rebate that covers a significant portion of the cost of purchasing and installing their energy-efficient air-conditioning system.
CEO Josh Liptak says he “encourages every household or business in NSW to check their eligibility for the ESS rebates, or explore other ways of upgrading to more energy efficient, sustainable appliances and equipment. Efficient Energy Group can help them with this process by determining the most suitable appliances and systems for their needs, sourcing the products, and installing them. We can also help with the rebate eligibility and application process.”
