PRESS RELEASE: NSW Line Dancers Take On UK Global Competition
Lennox Beach line dancers will compete in the UK next year with the help of online fundraising.
The team of 16 dancers, named “Club of the Year” at Mayworth, have just qualified for the World Dance Masters competition in Blackpool next July.
World Dance Masters is the leading global organizer of the most prestigious line dance events in the world.
Lennox Beach described qualifying as “a huge honour and reward for many years of hard work and dedication from our team.”
To help cover expenses, they have set up a mycause online fundraising page for support from the Greater Northern Rivers community.
They are seeking funding to help cover the cost of dancers’ travel expenses, new costumes, new uniforms, and additional training.
World Dance Masters is the largest competitive and social line dance event in the UK and will be held in the historic Winter Gardens in Blackpool, UK from the 28th – 30th July 2023.
The event comprises three full days of workshops, social dancing, live music, evening shows and the World Line Dance Championships.
The Lennox Beach Line Dancers are based in Ballina, NSW and travel around Australia to participate in a variety of competitions and events throughout the year.
Lennox Beach was established in 2001 with a small group of children from the Lennox Head Public School. They were originally known as the Lennox Head Line Dancers.
The Club has since grown significantly and is now regarded as one of the premier clubs in Australia.
In 2022, the team was named “Club of the Year” at the prestigious Australian Country Dance Festival, Mayworth in Tamworth NSW.
