PRESS RELEASE: Nudo, Melbourne’s leading wedding planning and venue company, overturns Mother Nature.
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA. 20 October, 2022.
It’s every bride and groom’s worst nightmare – less than 24 hours before the big day and disaster intrudes. The day has been researched and planned carefully, dotting every ‘i’ and crossing every ‘t’, and
whilst most weddings go without a hitch, circumstances beyond control can strike at any time.
Eunike and Adam were scheduled to get married Saturday 15 October at Gather & Tailor – a popular wedding venue located on the Maribyrnong river. However, Mother Nature had other ideas.
As floods swept Victoria, many houses and businesses were impacted. By Friday 14 October, the banks of the river had broken and water was rising at Gather & Tailor’s entrances.
Knowing Eunike and Adam and their 160 guests were ready to celebrate, the team at Nudo had to act fast. Fortunately, Nudo owns a portfolio of venues, which provided an opportunity – switch up the location.
Katie Coolledge, who heads up Planning for the group comments: “After hearing that the venue was impacted by the flooding we had just over 24 hours to completely relocate Eunike and Adam’s wedding!
Luckily we have six other beautiful venues available within the Nudo group, so we were able to relocate. The bride and groom were absolutely amazing through navigating the change and were thankful to have a stunning venue available. Working with their amazing stylist from The Goodsmiths and the talented florists at Anatomy Of Flowers, we were able to reimagine their floor plan, turn their greenery beams into a stunning staircase installation, and reprint their seating chart so that every loved one knew their place in the new venue. On the day Eunike and Adam arrived, smiles beaming, you would have no idea the whirlwind of their last 24 hours, only that they were happy to be celebrating marrying the love of their life, with all their favourite people. And not a drop of rain.”
In times reminiscent of ‘the 24 hour wedding’, the team pulled together. Every supplier and vendor was notified and plans to host at the new venue, The Wool Mill in Brunswick East, were put in place.
Eunike and Adam had the perfect day, sharing thoughts on the event, “Our wedding day was nothing short of miraculous. That’s the only way we can describe it. The Nudo team was able to make our day so
special despite the circumstances and uncertainty, and all of the staff really went above and beyond. I can see why so many people recommend Nudo – who they are and what they do is amazing!”.
With a growing portfolio of venues, Nudo is delighted to be able to accommodate weddings, sometimes at the drop of a hat. With seven iconic venues and experience services covering floristry, planning, styling, design, photography and catering, they have everything couples need to complete the perfect stress-free day.
