The ultimate beach obstacle course experience is back! Perth Beach OCR, proudly presented by the City of Stirling, returns on April 5th & 6th, 2025, delivering an adrenaline-fueled weekend along Perth’s iconic Scarborough Beach shoreline.

After making history in 2024 as the first-ever obstacle course at Scarborough Beach—and some say the entire state—this year’s edition promises more lanes, exciting new obstacles, and an electrifying atmosphere for participants and spectators alike. Whether you’re tackling the obstacles or joining the Beachraceco powered by Seagals and Manning Park Trails, there’s a challenge for everyone.

5km Obstacle Course: Take on the beach, dunes, and a series of thrilling obstacles along Scarborough Beach. (April 5th & 6th)

Beachraceco Powered by Seagals and Manning Park Trails + 5km Fun Run: A 5km run-only race along the same scenic course—no obstacles, just pure speed. (April 6th, 7:00 AM)

500m Kids Dash: Perfect for the little adventurers, this exciting sprint lets kids experience the thrill of the event in a safe and fun environment. (April 6th)

Trek4Vets Weighted Vest Wave: Watch or participate as punters don weighted vests and take on the obstacle course. This unique wave, held on April 6th at 11:11 AM, gives participants a glimpse into the physical and mental struggles of military service members—all while promoting outdoor activity and raising funds for causes that make a real difference.

<18s Obstacle Competition: Young competitors can prove their skills and speed in a dedicated under-18s competition. (April 5th, 7:45 AM) PBOCR25 Championship OCR Race: The ultimate test of strength, speed, and skill. The best obstacle athletes will go head-to-head for the PBOCR25 Championship title. Red Dust OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) is an event series founded by 3 Perth lads before Covid, which focuses on creating challenging and exhilarating obstacle courses for both competitive athletes and recreational participants. The event is designed to bring together a diverse group of people, offering an inclusive experience that blends fitness, adventure, and fun. The first Red Dust OCR event took place in Perth, aiming to bring high-energy, outdoor racing to the region. As the event grew in popularity, it gained a reputation for its unique and innovative obstacle designs, as well as its community-oriented atmosphere. When RDOCR launched we anticipated 200-300 people. On our first event we had 1700 people registered. So we had to work overtime to duplicate obstacles and increase capacity and we achieved it. Just 12 days before the first event, Covid restrictions shut us down. We pushed through and kept our true north. Fast forward 6 years 17 events 20k plus participants. The series quickly became well-known for hosting races in distinctive outdoor locations, including areas like the Shire of Murray and other parts of Perth. Red Dust OCR also expanded its offerings to include obstacle courses that catered to all ages and fitness levels, creating a family-friendly environment alongside more challenging events for serious athletes. The event is marked by its connection to the local community, often working with local vendors, sponsors, and organizations to create a memorable experience for all involved. Over the years, Red Dust OCR has become a staple in the Perth OCR scene, drawing participants from all over Australia to take on its signature courses. It's also known for having a strong focus on health and wellness, with participants not only testing their physical strength but also engaging in activities like ice baths, recovery services, and post-race relaxation, contributing to a complete fitness experience.
