Minimega is thrilled to introduce the next title in the Bonza Puzzles series. From the makers of “Bonza Word Puzzle” (App Store Best of 2014) and “Word Laces” on Apple Arcade, “Bonza Phrases” is a word game that celebrates proverbs, idioms and figures of speech.

“Bonza Phrases” is a casual word puzzle game for mobile. Players will appreciate the clear and simple approach, suitable for the whole family. This game features common phrases that have become part of everyday language. Arrange the word fragments to complete the phrase, it’s a piece of cake!

In 2022, “Bonza Phrases” was awarded a development grant from Screen Australia as part of the Games: Expansion Pack.

“Bonza Phrases” is designed to be a rewarding learning experience. Much like the other games in the Bonza series, players will find insight and inspiration from the puzzle content.

The game follows a classic linear level progression, with new chapters unlocked over time. The daily puzzle features topical content throughout the year. Players are also encouraged to submit their own puzzle ideas that could feature as an upcoming daily puzzle.

Weekly events are updated every Saturday with themes like “90’s movies” and “Shakespearean quotes”. The combination of fresh daily and weekly content gives players a chance to develop an ongoing relationship with the game.

Availability and Pricing

“Bonza Phrases” was released over the weekend (Sep 23) on Google Play and the iOS App Store.

The game is free-to-play with In-app purchase. It’s monetised with ads but they can be removed for a one-time fee. Players can also purchase “ad-free time” with in-game currency. This variety of options gives players a choice depending on their budget.

Promotional Event

Minimega will be showcasing a physical version of Bonza Puzzles at PAX Melbourne (October 6-8). Visit their tabletop booth and try some of the “real-life” puzzles that sit alongside their digital offerings.
