PRESS RELEASE: Professor Al Muderis leads clinic and training at Paley European Institute in Warsaw

Professor Munjed Al Muderis, the Australian orthopaedic surgeon pioneering Osseointegration surgery for amputees, recently led a clinic at the Paley European Institute (PEI) in Warsaw on December 13th. This event welcomed the participation of esteemed PEI surgeons Dr Karolina Siwicka, Dr Michał Deszczyński, and Dr Tomasz Albrewczynski, offering a unique opportunity for individuals grappling with complex lower limb conditions and seeking better solutions for limb-related challenges.
Osseointegration is a revolutionary option for amputees facing challenges with socket fitting or persistent pain and stands at the forefront of innovative orthopaedic solutions.
Professor Al Muderis engaged directly with patients who have undergone limb amputations, conducting discussions aimed at showcasing innovative technologies designed to elevate the quality of life for amputees.
The clinic went beyond routine medical consultations, encompassing dedicated training sessions for medical students, physicians and representatives from non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Additionally, a training event featuring a live demonstration was held for a group of medical device distributors from 26 different countries.
The clinic and the successful educational event solidify the collaborative efforts initiated in April 2023 between the Osseointegration Group and PEI, striving to provide patients with a holistic care solution.
Professor Al Muderis affirmed his commitment to future visits for clinics and surgeries at the PEI, extending specialized care to those unable to travel to Australia. This commitment underscores a shared vision between Osseointegration Group and PEI in welcoming patients from across Europe, offering them the opportunity for innovative orthopaedic treatment.
The collaborative educational experience showcased at PEI not only marks a milestone in advancing Osseointegration but also strengthens the resolve to provide comprehensive care solutions to improve orthopaedic care for amputees worldwide.

Osseointegration International designs and markets the Osseointegration Prosthetic Limb System (OPL). The OPL system is made up of multiple components. The core implant is made of high-tensile strength titanium with a highly porous titanium coating, providing both initial stability as well as long-term bone integration (in-growth). The unique properties of the titanium coating allow the bone to grow into the surface of the prosthesis, which makes the bone-implant structure one solid unit.
