Sensium Australia Caps a Record Year of Growth with Acquisition of Kinect Group’s Vehicle Tracking Division

Australian based Sensium, local manufacturer and developer of Australian made GPS hardware and software, has capped off a record year of growth with the completion of the acquisition of Kinect Group’s vehicle tracking division.

BRISBANE, DECEMBER 02, 2020
Sensium Australia, developers and manufacturers of their own proprietary Australian made GPS hardware and software, announced today that they have capped off a record year of growth with the acquisition of Kinect Group’s vehicle tracking division.

Headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland, the decision a decade ago to focus on local hardware manufacturing of the complex components required to build their world-leading GPS tracking hardware for fleet vehicles and non-powered assets, has proven to be a catalyst for growth in 2020.

There are approximately 4 million commercial vehicles in use in Australia, and industry commentators are of the strong opinion that the market for fleet management in Australia is currently in a growth period and will continue for years to come.

“The fleet telematics market in the region is today influenced positively by a number of different drivers including regulatory developments related to health and safety regulations, chain of responsibility legislation and road user charges”, reports the Swedish market research firm, Berg Insight.

With the acquisition of Kinect Group’s vehicle tracking division, Sensium is not only expanding its own business, but it is bolstering its roster of Australian businesses who value local support and see clear benefits in fleet management hardware and software.

“After more than a decade of iteration and development right here in Australia, we have never been better positioned to help Australian companies take advantage of the considerable leaps in technology to drive efficiencies in their business,” says Sensium CEO, Jeremy McLean. “The stresses of 2020 have further cemented our desire to assist Australian businesses to introduce as many efficiencies into their business as possible, especially when it comes to vehicle tracking, fleet management, driver behaviour, driver safety and non-powered asset tracking. The customers of Kinect Group will all benefit markedly from our investment in our proprietary GPS fleet tracking hardware and software.”

With a considerable roadmap of service and hardware releases planned over the next 18 months, Sensium remains committed to the duel goals of supporting local businesses in the provision of GPS based fleet management services and in supporting local component manufacturers in the development of Sensium’s GPS tracking hardware.
