PRESS RELEASE: Something borrowed, something blue, 100 couples to say I do. . . In the name of charity!
On Thursday, 29th February 2024 we will see the coming together of up to 100 couples with a common goal, to get married in the name of charity, at one of Melbourne’s most sought after wedding venues, Witchmount Estate.
Titled ‘Australia’s Biggest Wedding’, the event sets out to raise in excess of $20,000 for Make-A-Wish® Australia in order to grant inspirational, life changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Here’s how it works..
There will be 5 celebrants and various industry professionals who will donate their time and services to this event and indeed to support Make-A-Wish® Australia.
All you have to do is make a minimum donation of $200 to Make-A-Wish® Australia when you register to be part of the event.
And, as this date only comes along once every four years, you’ll forever be able to tell everyone how unique your anniversary is.
**Please note that due to time and space restrictions each ceremony is limited to 15 minutes and 10 guests.
Event organiser and Marriage Celebrant, John Edney said, “For myself and the other celebrants involved, the creation of this event was built on a simple premise, create an outlet for couples who may for whatever reason have put their wedding plans on the backburner to make their dream a reality, bring together all of our industry contacts to create an event we’re all proud of and feel good about, and raise some much needed funds for a simply amazing charity.
“The day itself will be actioned packed with all products and services being donated including photography, videography, florists, event hire companies, musicians, DJs and more.
“If you or someone you know has always dreamt of getting married but it hasn’t happened yet, we encourage you to get involved, it only costs $200 and it goes straight to Make-A-Wish®.”
Make-A-Wish Australia has been granting wishes for critically ill Australian children for over 37 years and currently has more than 900 children on their wish journey.
CEO of Make-A-Wish Sally Bateman, said “Make-A-Wish relies on the support of the community to make wishes possible. With more kids than ever before counting down the days until their wish is possible there’s never been a more important time to support the organisation.”

All involved hope to see much joy, generosity and success as part of this event, to help make these wishes come true.
