Since I was a child, I always felt compelled to move and sing…Being someone who struggled with self-doubt & perfectionism, I started to notice positive shifts in mood when I got up to dance and vocalised my thoughts to melodies. I started to feel better….

Grammy award winning producer, Riley Urick who brought the best of her powerful lyrics together with contemporary Afro-beats in this latest release says –

BACUDA: “When I am moving and singing, I become better aware of the limiting messages of my mind. Therefore, my craft empowers me. It allows me to get out of my head and become the stronger version of myself. Writing gives me confidence because it enables me to process my experiences and better understand myself. I have gotten through some of my darkest hours because of music. When creating, it is as if we can take something “not so pleasant” and turn it into something beautiful. I believe we can transmute negative experiences into positive ones through our art. I want to show the world how healing it is to express yourself and how creativity can improve your confidence. I hope my lyrics also reassure people they are not alone as they navigate through the lessons of life”

Bacuda has always had a passion for music. Growing up, her household would play vintage records, such as Carol King, Elvis, Fleetwood Mac and Bob Dylan which inspired her to write poetry, songs, and perform in choirs or musicals. Influenced by the 70s, Afrobeats and Alternative Dream Pop, Bacuda curated her sound to be a mix of ambient pop, RnB and Afrobeats. With the knowledge she learned from the Conservatorium of Music and collaboration with international music producers, Bacuda is creating music people can connect to from all over the globe.
