PRESS RELEASE: Wheels & Deals Gears Up for Its Biggest Year Yet as Sydney’s First Regular Bike Market

Sydney’s favourite bike swap event is back- and it’s shifting into high gear. Wheels & Deals returns on Sunday 4th May, building momentum as the city’s first and only regular marketplace dedicated to bikes, parts, and all things pedal-powered.
What began as a one-off swap in an inner-city carpark has grown into a thriving fixture for local riders, tinkerers, families, collectors, and cycling newcomers. With a focus on connection, affordability, and hands-on know-how, Wheels & Deals is proving there’s strong demand for a dedicated space where Sydney’s bike community can come together.
‘People wanted more than a bike shop or a quick online sale,” said Guido Verbist, CEO of Revolve ReCYCLING. “They wanted a place to meet, to talk bikes, to trade parts and stories- and nothing like this was available on a regular basis until now. We’ve seen it grow stall by stall, and now it’s fast becoming something much bigger.’
This year’s event features more than just secondhand bike stalls. Visitors can enjoy:
A barbecue, coffee cart, and local brews from Yulli’s Brewery
Live music and entertainment throughout the day
Family-friendly activities, including a LEGO station and smoothie bike
Held from 9am to 2pm in Alexandria, Wheels & Deals welcomes bike lovers of all kinds—whether you’re hunting for a vintage frame, clearing out the garage, or just curious to see what the buzz is about.
The event comes at a time of renewed momentum for cycling in Sydney. The NSW Government has recently begun work on a long-awaited cycleway ramp on the northern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge—one of several projects making the city more accessible for riders. https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/projects/current-projects/sydney-harbour-bridge-cycleway-ramp#:~:text=Project%20status&text=Construction%20is%20now%20underway%20and,accessibility%20for%20all%20bike%20riders.
