PRESS RELEASE: Yulin annual Dog-Eating Festival starts 21 June to slaughter thousands of dogs

A letter was sent to the Chinese Ambassador to Australia, Xiao Qian by EndAnimalCruelty.com.au asking the Ambassador to denounce the torture and slaughter of thousands of dogs in Yulin, China. The annual festival commenced in 2009 and has seen activists attempt to save dogs many of which are stolen to be tortured and consumed during the 10 day festival. The cruel practice has seen young Chinese activists show their disdain and save dogs cramped in cages waiting to be beaten or stabbed to death and some are skinned alive.
The Ambassador has been asked to use his platform to advocate for the lives of the dogs about to be eaten.
