PRESS RELEASE: New “non-agency” making digital essentials accessible for pandemic-affected hospitality and tourism businesses in Australia

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – 18 AUGUST 2020 – Mother-daughter team at Coco Station will be turning the hospitality and tourism world on its head with the launch of their new Digital Essentials “Non-Agency”, a new service that distances itself from the traditional “agency model” and aims at giving Australian small businesses the tools they need to regain and surpass its pre-pandemic energy and profitability levels at very reasonable prices.

The Australian hospitality and tourism industries have been hit hard this year, by both the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and delivery giants Uber Eats and Deliveroo clipping 14% – 35% from every order. 2020 is chipping away the resilience these small businesses are known for.
“Customers have been forced to order their food online and hospitality businesses are not necessarily seeing the benefits of this change in consumer habits,” explains Tere Rodríguez, Chef and Co-founder of Coco Station. “Many of these local businesses don’t have an appropriate digital presence that facilitates their mobile customers’ orders and are left at the mercy of the big delivery corporations.”

Coco Station has been designed to give these key sectors of the Australian economy the guidance and boost they need in the digital world without the prohibitive costs usually associated with specialised agencies. “Having run a catering business myself, I know that the fees specialised agencies expect local businesses to pay for digital essentials are out of their reach, and even more so now,” explains Tere. “We want to help them create a smart, attractive platform at a fraction of what they would pay elsewhere.”

Tere is a qualified chef and senior multilingual content writer and copywriter with over 12 years of international experience in digital marketing. She has written copy for hundreds of hospitality and tourism businesses, from Michelin star restaurants to family-owned cafes. Her daughter, Ari Lee, who co-founded Coco Station with her, used to work as a senior producer in the advertising industry and is now an award-winning freelance videographer. They have branded Coco Station a “non-agency” – offering clearly packaged, transparent, and affordable services, including:

• Brand Identity: storytelling, logo design, and naming
• Web and e-commerce design
• Smart menu copy and photography
• Brand videos
• Copy and content

“As proven by the crippling and limiting effects of this pandemic, an online presence is no longer a “nice to have” but an absolute imperative for hospitality and tourism businesses,” remarks Rodríguez. “Our goal is to try to help these industries create a more sustainable model that empowers small businesses when times are tough and leads them to smarter growth when things are rosier, without having to break the bank.”

Operating from Sydney, Coco Station is a tight-knit, experienced team that moves away from the traditional “agency model” while offering high-impact, low-cost digital essentials for the hospitality and tourism industries.
