BRISBANE, QUEENSLAND (NOVEMBER 24, 2020) — Organisations using GitLab get ahead of new data sovereignty rules. IntegrationQA keeps Australian proprietary data inside Australian borders.

The Australian Government reportedly is considering rules that only Australian entities be allowed to host sensitive government data, which must be stored in Australia. That presents a problem for many organisations that have a cloud-first strategy and want to use GitLab to develop and deploy their software.

“IntegrationQA understands the landscape of highly regulated and commercially sensitive organisations,” said Chris Wellington, Managing Director of IntegrationQA. “We’ve worked very closely with GitLab to provide a local cloud capability that provides resilience, scalability and security.”

Cloud offerings housed in globalised hyper-scale cloud environments may be subject to rules across multiple jurisdictions, perhaps running afoul of upcoming government regulations and compliance responsibilities. IntegrationQA’s solution ensures Australian sovereignty is maintained over an organisation’s data. The data is hosted in AUCloud — Australia’s trusted sovereign cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider — and based in accredited Australian-owned data centres.

“GitLab is thrilled to see IntegrationQA bring this innovative offering to our region,” said Anthony McMahon, GitLab Regional Director, Asia Pacific and Japan. “The combination of GitLab’s single application for the entire DevSecOps lifecycle, running on an enterprise-grade Australian based cloud, will help customers to rapidly increase operational efficiencies, deliver better software faster, and reduce security and compliance risk.”

“IntegrationQA is proud to partner with GitLab and AUCloud to provide the opportunity for organisations to seamlessly transition and comply with forthcoming rules regarding data security,” said Wellington. “Organisations who still want to use GitLab as a service now can.”
