PRESS RELEASE: High Care Cat Rescue Charity opens new home on Central Coast NSW

Saturday 17 February 2024 was the culmination of a three-year dream when Ninth Life Foundation officially open their rescue cattery in Erina, NSW.
The charity, whose ambassador is the renowned Kitty Flanagan, was started by Jules Dos Santos in 2021 with the help of Sydney veterinarian, Dr. Yvonne Van Der Veek, and animal rescue veteran, John Holland. Its purpose is to care for, and eventually rehome, senior or high care cats that have been displaced by changing circumstances. Typically, their former owner may have died or moved to a nursing home, or their family is going through a breakup. Many have simply been abandoned due to their high needs.
“As cats get older, their veterinary costs start to increase, and this puts additional pressure on their owners” commented Jules Dos Santos.
“Despite this challenging environment, in the past two years, we have successfully rehomed more than 100 cats. “she added.
The charity originally leased cattery space at two commercial catteries but always planned to have a dedicated facility. Last year this dream was given a fantastic boost when the Foundation was awarded a grant by the NSW Government. Generous donors stepped in with additional support and the facility is now a reality. Naturally it is called Ninth Life House!
Saturday 17th February the ribbon was cut by Skyler, the chairs daughter, and marks the start of a second chapter in the life of a small charity, The Ninth Life Foundation.

The charity is continues to seek for adoptions as one cat has been in the home for 2 years and donations either individual or corporate to help support its special cause. visit www.ninthlifefoundation.org for more information
