PRESS RELEASE: Samaritan’s Purse Provides Emergency Relief to Flood Victims in New South Wales

Sydney, NSW, 6 April 2021—Samaritan’s Purse is aiding New South Wales families in the wake of devastating floods that inundated homes and displaced tens of thousands of local residents. Communities are returning home after nearly three weeks since the torrential rain began to find their homes damaged due to dangerously high water levels.

The relief organisation’s disaster response specialists and volunteers are on the ground in North Haven in the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, helping impacted families clean up their properties – removing damaged contents and flood debris. Samaritan’s Purse is also partnering with local officials and churches to help these communities start to recover, while reminding them that they are not alone.

“Even though the flood waters have receded, so many people are overwhelmed by the horrific damage to their homes and are unsure of what to do next,” said Daniel Stephens, disaster response manager of Samaritan’s Purse. “We want to be there to help as many as we can in Jesus’ Name. Please pray for these families as they begin the road to recovery.”
