PRESS RELEASE: THE GUNDAM BASE POP-UP WORLD TOUR IN SYDNEY – The internationally touring POP-UP event arrives in Australia for the first time

Bandai Namco Asia Co., Ltd. will hold THE GUNDAM BASE POP-UP WORLD TOUR IN SYDNEY (hosted by Bandai Namco Asia Co., Ltd. and HOBBYCO PTY. LTD.), the first GUNDAM BASE event in Australia, at Broadway Sydney Shopping Centre, a leading shopping hub in Sydney’s inner city, from Tuesday, September 23 to Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Since the inaugural GUNDAM BASE POP-UP WORLD TOUR in Japan in April 2025, this internationally touring GUNDAM event has been held in Mainland China, France, Malaysia, Korea, and Singapore. The Sydney event will feature a 4-meter RX-78-2 GUNDAM balloon, wide-ranging GUNDAM model kit exhibits, a hands-on GUNDAM plastic model kit workshop, and exclusive items available for purchase.

During the event, GUNDAM movies will also be screened at HOYTS on the 2nd Floor. On the 3rd floor, works submitted for the GBWC (GUNPLA BUILDERS WORLD CUP) from across Australia will be showcased throughout the event. Recognized as the world’s premier competition for GUNPLA modelers, the GBWC celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and passion, attracting talented builders from more than 16 regions worldwide. Visitors will be able to admire highly customised GUNPLA created by Australian fans, ranging from dynamic battle scenes to meticulously detailed original designs. On the final day, Sunday, October 12, a special ceremony will be held to select the Australian representatives who will advance to the GBWC Final in Japan, where they will compete against the best GUNPLA builders from around the globe for the title of World Champion.
